NEW YEARS????haha..are you kidding me?

so now that all the brouhaha about new year celebrations and resolutions has died down,was just wondering whether the whole thing was really worth it....

being one of those people who decided to spend time with his close pals and family to bring in the new year,i went to sleep with a smiling face and content mind at about 2 am after replying to all the phone calls and messages i received...and as usual wake up at about 7 am,looking for my daily drug called the newspaper..with a broad smile n sleepy eyes,i look at the paper,it wished the readers happy new years.. and then the main headline..WOMAN SERIAL KILLED ARRESTED..hmmm,n i go,what a lovely way to start the new year,and the more pages i read,i realised that a huge chunk of people had passed away in one unpleasant way or the other..oh well..i was like,part of life,happens..

so the day moves on and i get my lazy self into exercise mode and then onto breakfast..ah..well..the pleasures of life...so being in the holiday spirit i decide to entertain
myself,well well,,what better way than my favourite sport of channel surfin..i start,n the first second,third channels were all news channel..and there i see breakin news coming in...

THE TRAGEDY OF FIVE..different accidents in different parts of the world,each one claiming five lives..the pictures of a car crash and death of four kids and a labourer..four young dreams and one familys hope..all down the drain in the pursuit of a "happy new year"....and now that wasnt a pleasant or happy sight for me...my new year was just taking a sad turn with what i saw...

the next one was about the death of an engineer while partyin,the floor he was dancing on built over a swimming pool collapsed and the guy drowned..PARTY TO DEATH SOMEONE?

and as the day progresses,i end up stumbling at the regional news channel n there again happy new years news...the tiny state of kerala drank alcohol close to 150 crore rupees indian money within one week of christmas and new year...man..they sure must be one happy bunch...

and then i decide to get done with my tv for a while and get on the internet,and out of instinct,end up checking a news website and guess what.,.the NEW YEARS HAD A NEW LOW...couple of women coming out of a party with relatives get molested by a GROUP OF 70 MEN at mumbai,supposedly the most secure city in india for women..whoa,,that sure said a lot abt security..

by the end of the eveing i had heard abt a few more accidents and deaths on new years eve in accident driven by inebriated drivers or some case of eve teasing,one even the son of a high profile minister in india..MY YEAR SURE WASNT ALL THAT HAPPY BY THE EVENING.

.i was worried about all the people dying in accidents,out of which some could be my friends,
i was worried about all the women close to me including m sisters who could be in danger of getting harmed..i was worried abt every little thing i could think could go wrong this new years..

i guess if nobody had mentioned the new year,it would have passed off as a safer day..a saner day which sure would have made my new year happier...

ISLAMIC TERRORISM???WHERE DID THAT COME FROM

being a voracious reader who keeps track of abt 7 newspapers and 4 magazines everyweek,theres something i ve noticed over the last few years..every 3rd day on an average you have an article which has something based on islamic terrorism---

islamic terrorism? ..where did that come from..now any person who has a minimum knowledge abt islam will know that it stands for peace more than anything else.. n terrorism was never meant to be the part of a muslims life..so why why why..why doesnt anyone go beyond the facade of just calling it all islamic terrorism just because they call themselves ahmed,sajid,haneef or whatever..just because he has a beard..or wears a skull cap...

has anyone ever tried understanding the psyche of a true muslim..his faith matters to him..n his faith says that you should never harm anyone..his faith says you should love peace,spread love and happiness..his faith never asks him to kill any innocent...so he is the one who is the most hurt when someone is killed and its called islamic terrorism..

Islam is a religion for peace,its not anti social or anti people..has anyone outside the faith gone beyond the facade and tried understanding what the faith actually proposes..it asks people to pray regularly to keep their mind at peace and have integrity,to know that its ALLAH who is the almighty,so how can a true muslim do senseless killings..how can he feel powerful enough to kill any human,has anyone thought of this..it is for want of this understanding that every muslim is looked upon with doubt at some level and have to go beyond themselves to prove their worth and secular nature..

these people who go about brandishing their label of islamic terrorism are just sadists who get pleasure out of killing and expanding their personal whims and fancies,lusting for power...just call it terrorism..dont name it under the religion..
